Moldova Agroindbank - one of the strongest banks in the region, according to SeeNews

Moldova Agroindbank is ranked 65th at the top of the best performing banks in South-Eastern Europe, MAIB being also the leader among the banks in the Republic of Moldova that is in the ranking. The results were announced in the 13th annual edition of SeeNews Top 100 banks 2020/Top 100 banks in South-East Europe 2020, prepared by SeeNews.

With total assets of 1.34 billion euros and a profit of 36.5 million euros at the end of 2019, increasing by 9.24%, MAIB maintains its position in the ranking, reconfirming its strength, stability and weight, including at the level regional.

The experts also appreciated that "in the conditions of improving the macroeconomic climate in South-Eastern Europe. The banks enjoyed solid profitability and a vigorous increase of the assets on the background of the anemic access to financing. The demand for credit has increased. […] Credit quality has also improved, albeit slower than in previous years".

SeeNews annually compiles a list of the largest and most powerful banking institutions in Southeast Europe, analyzing financial information on total assets and net income from the consolidated balance sheets as of December 31, 2019. The ranking is based on several over 200 active banks in the region, including branches and subsidiaries of foreign banks.
