Pay by Link allows you to accept payments from customers without having your own website. Simply generate a payment link and send it to your customer via email, SMS, or social media. Payments are processed instantly, and the funds are transferred directly to your company's account.

Pay by Link connection steps
In just a few simple steps, you can start accepting payments with Pay by Link.
1. Submit a request
Complete the online form, and a maib Relationship Manager will guide you through the process and explain each step.
2. Submit your application and sign the agreement
To activate the service, please provide the same documents required for the E-commerce service:
- An extract from the State Register of Legal Entities, issued no more than 6 months ago;
- The company administrator's identity card;
- Identity cards of the beneficial owners holding more than 25% of the company's share capital.
3. Access and technical guidance
Our technical specialists will contact you to provide quick access to the Merchant Portal and user instructions.
4. Payment management
Manage your payment links through the Merchant Portal: monitor transactions, generate payment links, process refunds—all in real time.
5. Monitoring and support

Pay-by-link is an alternative cashless payment service that does not require integration with an e-commerce platform or the use of a POS terminal. Merchants can generate payment links directly from the dedicated platform, with no additional technical development needed.
The system supports payments made with cards issued by international networks such as Mastercard and Visa. It is also compatible with digital wallets like Google Pay (https://www.maib.md/en/persoane-fizice/servicii-digitale/google-pay) and Apple Pay (https://www.maib.md/en/persoane-fizice/servicii-digitale/apple-pay), allowing customers to complete transactions quickly and securely from mobile devices.
The solution is tailored for merchants operating outside traditional online sales channels, such as:
- travel agencies, hotels, and guesthouses
- individual service providers – consulting, training, coaching
- micro-businesses or social media–based sellers without a dedicated website
- Complete the application form (link to form) to initiate the onboarding process

- Complete the merchant questionnaire sent after contract signing, in accordance with KYC compliance requirements
No. The service is designed to function independently from any e-commerce platform. Merchants can generate and send payment links via email or other channels directly from their maib merchant dashboard.

Funds collected through payment links are transferred to the merchant’s current account on the next working day. Transaction processing is aligned with the bank’s operational schedule.
