After ‘paid’, there is one more option.
Business payments in instalments is a financing solution that allows you to convert an eligible transaction that has already been made into financing repayable in equal monthly instalments.
The product can be used for payments relating to both day-to-day operations and investments in the business – for example, for stock, suppliers, raw materials, services, repairs, logistics, machinery, equipment and other eligible expenses.
How does it work?
- You have made the payment.
- Select the eligible transaction and the financing period in maib business web.
- The financing amount is credited to your company’s current account.
- Repay the amount in equal monthly instalments.

You can receive financing for several eligible transactions, within the individual limit available for your company.

eligibility
Who can use business payments in instalments
The product is available to eligible Business Banking customers in the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors who:
- have active bank accounts with maib;
- have access to maib business web;
- have an available credit limit;
- have at least one transaction eligible for financing.
The product may also be available to micro-enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups and other eligible categories of entrepreneurs and professionals, in accordance with maib criteria.
Eligible transactions
To be eligible for financing, a transaction must:
- be carried out in the last 90 days;
- have been successfully completed;
- meet the minimum value requirement:
- 1,000 MDL for transactions in MDL.
Financing is granted in MDL and may be up to 100% of the value of the eligible transactions, within the available individual limit.
Non-eligible transactions
The following transactions cannot be financed:
- cash withdrawals and cash-equivalent transactions;
- foreign exchange / Forex operations;
- transfers between own accounts;
- transfers to card accounts;
- repayments of loans, interest, fees and penalties;
- cancelled or reversed transactions;
- transactions already financed through business payments in instalments.

Financing terms
Choose a financing period between 1 and 12 months, depending on the options available for the selected transaction. The exact terms are displayed in maib business web before the financing is confirmed.
No interest is charged.
A financing fee applies depending on the selected financing period. It is calculated as a percentage of the approved loan amount, but not less than MDL 200.

The financing fee may be paid in equal monthly installments, according to the payment schedule. The total amount of the fee is not reduced based on the actual period of use of the loan.
