The digital card can only be requested by current bank customers via the maib business web service.
P2B (Person to Business)
The P2B (Person to Business) transfer service offers a simple and efficient solution for the instant transfer of funds from the card account of a person (individual) to the business card account of a legal entity (LE). The new functionality saves you time and resources, as you no longer have to go to the bank to deposit cash if you have exceeded the spending limit on your business card. Still, you can transfer money from your account wherever you are.

Methods of transfer:
I. In the maibank app:
- Open the app.
- Select the transfer to another person.
- Enter the business card number of the legal entity (LE) and confirm the transfer.
- The funds will immediately be credited to the business card account.
II. On the www.maibpay.md platform:
1. Go to www.maibpay.md and select “Transfer from card to card P2B”.
2. Enter the individual card number under "Sender" and the legal person (LE) business card number under "Payee".
3. Enter the amount to be transferred and press “Transfer”.
4. The commission for registering funds to a LE business card account is zero, and the amount will instatly be credited to the account.
Overall, P2B Transfer is an excellent solution to facilitate payments between individuals and businesses, improving business efficiency and user experience through fast, secure and cost-effective transfer methods.
You need to know:
1. Services are available for Visa and MasterCard cards.
2. Transfers in foreign currency from payment cards issued in Moldova to Business cards in foreign currency will be rejected.
3. Crediting international transfers to Business cards in foreign currency (both P2B and Paypal) is allowed.
4. When crediting funds in foreign currency on Business cards issued in MDL, the transfers will be converted into national currency at the commercial exchange rate for card transactions, set by maib at the date of transaction processing.
5. Collections through the International Payment Systems of funds from betting and gambling are prohibited. The list will be completed as necessary;
6. The limits are set per maib business cards.

Issuing digital business cards for legal entities via web maib business is accessible to existing bank customers. The right to apply for a digital business card issuance is exclusively reserved for the legal entity's authorized person (Administrator).
Free top- up methods:
- At CDM maib terminals: for individuals authorised to deposit cash, according to the specimen signature sheet (with first and second signature rights).
- 24/7, via internet banking, the money will be credited to the account balance on the next working day after the transaction is made.
- At maib cash desks: with the ID card for those authorised to deposit cash, the money will be credited immediately.
- By bank transfer to the card account.
Withdrawal methods:
- at ATMs equipped with NFC technology, via Google Wallet, Apple Wallet, and Garmin Pay;
- at POS-terminals at the bank's cash desk, via Google Wallet, Apple Wallet, and Garmin Pay.
When making card payments in another currency, it is important to understand how the currency conversion process works to avoid any confusion later. Here's the process:
If the transaction is in USD, EUR or MDL, the bank uses its own exchange rate(the exchange rate for card transactions). The amount is blocked at the exchange rate on the day of the transaction. After receiving the debit confirmation from the international payment systems, the account is debited at the bank's exchange rate but at the amount set on the debit day (the difference between these two transactions can take up to 30 days).
For a transaction in another currency, the amount is initially converted to USD at the Mastercard or Visa exchange rate at the time of the transaction. This allows the USD amount to be blocked temporarily on your card account. Once the payment has been confirmed by the international payment systems (between 1 and 30 days from the date of purchase), the payment process is completed. The previously blocked amount is then recalculated in USD at the Mastercard or Visa exchange rate on the day of withdrawal from the account. Afterwards, the final exchange rate will be converted into the currency of your account at the bank's commercial rate(exchange rate for card transactions) if the account currency is not USD.
It is important to consider that the amount available in your account may vary. This variation may occur due to the time it takes for the merchant to process the information. Thus, the available balance in your account may be exceeded due to currency exchange.

- Access the maibank app;
- Choose the business card for which you want to configure the PIN;
- Select the "Set PIN code" option from the card menu;
- Enter a four-digit PIN code that you want;
- Repeat the new PIN code for confirmation;
If you have forgotten/lost the set PIN, change the PIN code in maibank without reissuing the card. For this, select the "Change PIN code" option from the card options and follow the steps similar to the settings.
Starting from February 1, 2025, the national legislation regarding strict customer authentication will take effect. The key changes are as follows:
- For payments at merchants by presenting the business card: If you make more than five consecutive payments without entering the PIN, the PIN will be required on the sixth payment.
- For cumulative payments: If the transactions between two strict authentications exceed 2000 MDL (or the equivalent in foreign currency), you must enter the PIN for the next payment.
- For payments via electronic wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay): There are no changes, and entering the PIN is not required.
If you encounter difficulties at the POS, we recommend asking the operator to repeat the transaction by inserting the card or paying via the electronic wallet.
If you have a Digital Business Card issued by maib, you can check your balance online depending on your role:
- Cardholder (employee): the card balance can be checked directly in the maibank mobile app, where you have fast and secure access to your transaction history and available funds on your maib online card.
- Company administrator: you have full access to card data through the maib business app, where you can manage all business cards. You can also make online transfers from the current account to any business card at any time, ensuring fast and easy fund top-ups.
To create a payment in MDL from your card account, you need to follow the steps below:
Step 1: Select the company.
Step 2: In the quick menu bar, click the “Payment in MDL” button, after which a new window will open.
Step 3: Carefully fill in the following fields: Amount, VAT and select the Currency, Payer Account and Payment Details (by choosing from the predefined fields).
- In the dropdown field Payer – select the card account 2258.
- In the dropdown field Beneficiary – choose the beneficiary from the list or add a new one.
- In the dropdown field Payment Details – select the options “Payment for” and “Document type” from the suggested list.
If you are making a payment based on a document without a number, the Number field should be filled in with the option “N/A". For the Payment for and Document type fields, if you select the Other option, you must appropriately complete the fields displayed by the system, based on the document on which the payment is made.
- In the Date field – select the date of the document.
Step 4: Click on the Sign button, where you have two signing options: via mobile signature or electronic signature. Additionally, you have the option "Send for signing" in case you do not have the right to authorize payments.
Any successfully processed transaction automatically becomes a template, which can be accessed whenever needed, without having to fill in the data again.
