Daniela Caraman: accessibility is not just about infrastructure, it's also about attitude

The new maib park headquarters  offers modern and adapted working conditions for people with special needs, creating equal opportunities and possibilities for professional affirmation without any barriers or exclusion based on disability.

Daniela Caraman, Translator in the Market Department, told us how friendly and accessible the maib park office is, being one of the employees with special needs in the maib team.

"I still remember my first day working at maib park. It usually takes me a while to get used to a new space and different circumstances. At maib park, things went differently. As the infrastructure is accessible, I got all the details I needed to make the working day go without feeling the change of location. Instead, I enjoyed the colours in the new office and the view from the windows of the building.

I feel at home here in terms of safety. I am confident I am in an excellent environment to develop personally and professionally. These elements have contributed to my well-being and influenced my productivity."

Focus on accessibility and inclusion

Accessibility is at its home. So, we inspire people with special needs to believe in the dream of getting a job and being part of one of the largest banking teams in the country.

Access to the maib park office is easy and convenient. The standards-built access ramps provide a sense of confidence and well-being from the start that there are no barriers here to being free and independent, growing personally and professionally in tandem with one's more particular needs. Wide doorways allow easy access for wheelchairs and other assistive equipment. The building is also equipped with wide elevators that make it easy to move smoothly into any room at any time.

At maib park, bathrooms have been designed and built to fully meet the requirements and standards of accessibility for people with special needs. And, yes, they are comfortable.

I appreciate that every employee has replaced their traditional computers with laptops, making it possible to work from anywhere and avoid sitting in an often uncomfortable position at the table.

Flexible WoW - fitting like a glove for people with special needs

From the start, when I joined maib, I wanted to be part of the team and come to the office every day. However, with the implementation of Flexible WoW, I discovered how cool it is to work for a few days from the comfort of my home. Thanks to this option, maib people get extra minutes of sleep and, in return, avoid public transport congestion and other inconveniences. For people with special needs, this is a demonstration of an open and truly inclusive employer.

The values I associate with maib park

I associate maib park with friendship, an office that is accessible and friendly to everyone. Convenience is present in every nook and corner, both in terms of the organisation and design of the space and feeling good as an employee. I was also won over by the kindness of the people and the attitude with which they made me fit into the team and contribute to making beautiful things happen.

We are a great team developing cool projects with and about people.
