Maib continues to invest in education and in the development of the young generation, contributing to the creation of an environment in which students’ ideas can come to life and generate positive changes in communities across Moldova. This commitment is supported through the bank’s contribution of MDL 2 million within the project “Economic and Entrepreneurial Education in Model Schools”.
Over 203 young people from the north of the country demonstrated their creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and drive for innovation at the first edition of Innovation Camp, held at “Mihai Eminescu” Theoretical Lyceum in the municipality of Edineț.
The event aims to develop critical thinking, entrepreneurial initiative, and financial skills among students, encouraging them to leverage modern technologies to create solutions with real impact in their communities.
Ina Dîrda, Director of the maib Branch in Edineț stated:
“Innovation Camp is about the courage to explore, to learn, and to transform bold ideas into real opportunities. It is a challenge to think differently. Your innovation and involvement are the engine of change, and we, the maib team, believe in the potential of each one of you. We wish you great success and hope to see the services and products you will create as soon as possible. Together we can achieve extraordinary things.”
The participants presented their ideas before a jury made up of representatives of the local business community, who offered valuable feedback and guidance for the further development of their projects. In the end, the young people were awarded for their effort and creativity.
Laurenția Filipschi, Director of Junior Achievement Moldova:
“I was impressed by the energy, enthusiasm, and preparedness of the students and teachers participating in the Innovation Camp in Edineț. Events like these reaffirm how much young people can achieve when they have access to resources, guidance, and trust. The ideas we saw today demonstrate not only creativity, but also a growing maturity in understanding how innovation and entrepreneurship can transform our communities.
The partnership with maib is essential for expanding entrepreneurial education in the model schools. The support provided allows an increasing number of students to discover what it means to think critically, work in a team, and turn an idea into a real project. We are grateful for this collaboration and confident that together we will continue to inspire the generations that will build the future of the Republic of Moldova”.
Innovation Camp is organized by Junior Achievement Moldova, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research and Coca-Cola HBC Moldova, with financial support from maib. The next edition of Innovation Camp will bring together students and teachers from the Central region and will take place in early December in Anenii Noi. As part of the project “Economic and Entrepreneurial Education in Model Schools,” the following activities are also carried out: professional training courses for teachers, interactive financial education lessons organized by maib in various localities, editing and distribution of methodological materials for financial and entrepreneurial education at the primary, middle school, and high school levels, and competitions dedicated to students from the 35 model schools.
The Model Schools Network is a strategic program of the Ministry of Education and Research, aimed at transforming selected institutions into examples of good practices, both through modern infrastructure and innovative teaching methods.
