The second Friendship Forest takes root with the help of maib employees, this time in Ialoveni

Over 270 maib employees participated in the second edition of the Friendship Forest planting in Ialoveni. The event is organized for the second consecutive year by the “Hai Moldova” Association, in collaboration with maib, Kaufland Moldova, Coca-Cola HBC Moldova, Tucano Coffee Moldova, and the Ialoveni Town Hall. 

Volunteers at the event planted 4 hectares of forest, consisting of 12 species of native trees and shrubs adapted to local conditions. The new forest will contribute to restoring local biodiversity, strengthening the soil, and providing a beautiful green space for walks and relaxation for both the residents of Ialoveni and visitors from the capital. 

Doina Fetco, maib Marketing Director emphasized: 

"I am glad that the Friendship Forest planting event brings together more and more maib team members each year and, perhaps most importantly, offers a beautiful experience for our children: an example of care, involvement, and responsibility towards nature. For maib, projects with social impact have become part of the DNA of our corporate social responsibility policy. In 2021, we launched the maib Forest initiative, carried out for three consecutive years, and since 2024 we support the planting of the Friendship Forest, together with partners from the private sector, to whom we extend our gratitude for their partnership."

"The Friendship Forest is more than just a planting action – it is a demonstration of unity among people, companies, and institutions who believe in a green and responsible future. We are glad that the spirit of friendship and collaboration is taking root, literally." 

The first Friendship Forest was planted in 2024 in Bacioi, where over 400 volunteers planted 16,000 trees. Since then, the project has become a tradition that brings together people, companies, and communities around a common goal: making Moldova greener. The forest planting is one of the projects in maib’s Corporate Social Responsibility portfolio, supporting the environmental protection direction. 

In 2023, the Republic of Moldova launched the national program “The Forest Generation” (Generația Pădurii), aimed at expanding and rehabilitating forested areas to combat climate change and protect the environment. Within the campaign, citizens, public institutions, private organizations, and volunteers mobilize to plant seedlings in numerous locations across the country.
