Maib and Mastercard have launched the “Cash la casă” service, already available across the Vento station network. This innovative solution enables customers to withdraw cash directly at the checkout when paying with a Mastercard card issued by maib for individuals either with the physical card or via digital wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.

The service is implemented in accordance with: 

• Government Decision no. 141/2019 on the use of cash registers and control equipment for settlements; 
• Law no. 845/1992 on entrepreneurship and enterprises, which allows merchants to issue cash to the holder of a payment instrument upon request, up to MDL 1,000 per transaction and up to MDL 100,000 per month, pursuant to Article 2(2)(5) of Law no. 114/2012 on payment services and electronic money.
