Maib has implemented two new corporate social responsibility projects.
The banking sector leader in the Republic of Moldova has supported implementing two cultural diplomacy projects: the first audioguide in Ukrainian and sign language, and the augmented reality (AR) mobile app “Find Dinotherium” in Ukrainian.
The projects, part of the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, were presented at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in Chișinău during an event organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova. These projects back cultural and linguistic inclusion through technology, and maib is honoured to be part of this impactful endeavour.
Andrii Glevatskyi, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of maib
“We are proud to stand up for these innovative projects, which reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting access to culture for all citizens, regardless of language or status. Through these initiatives, maib reaffirms its role as an active partner in developing an inclusive environment, mainly supporting the Ukrainian community. At a time when solidarity and intercultural understanding are essential, our help for promoting the Ukrainian language and cultural accessibility for all visitors reflects maib's commitment to contributing to building a more united and stronger society, where diversity is supported and appreciated.”
Through the audioguides available in Ukrainian and sign language, visitors to the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in Chișinău can explore 18 halls and learn about Moldova's cultural heritage in an accessible and innovative way. Furthermore, this project is part of a global network of 95 sites in 51 countries where audioguides are available to tourists. In the Republic of Moldova, this is the first guide that includes sign language, providing accessibility for people with hearing impairments.
The AR mobile app “Find Deinotherium” in Ukrainian brings to life one of the museum’s most impressive exhibits – the Deinotherium skeleton. The interactive app uses augmented reality (AR) technology to allow visitors to help the Deinotherium calf find its mother while learning about natural history.
Starting from April 1, 2025, the AR app will be available for free in Ukrainian on all mobile devices, available for download from the App Store and Play Store.
It is worth noting that recently, maib also announced other large-scale corporate social responsibility partnerships, becoming the general partner of the National Theatre “Mihai Eminescu”, a partner of Tekwill Junior Ambassadors, a main partner of the Moldovan Football Federation, the largest national running event– Chisinau Marathon by maib I Mastercard, and a partner of the National Teams Training Center, among others.
