Maib supported the 10th edition of DescOperă Festival as a general partner

Maib was a general partner of the 10th edition of DescOperă Outdoor Classical Music Festival, one of the most prominent cultural projects in the Republic of Moldova and the only festival of its kind in Eastern Europe.

Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Orheiul Vechi Cultural-Natural Reserve in Butuceni, the festival celebrated its tenth anniversary with a special unprecedented edition spanning four consecutive evenings of outdoor opera and classical music.

The artistic program brought together prestigious cultural institutions and artists from the Republic of Moldova and Romania. The festival opened with Gioachino Rossini’s opera The Barber of Seville, presented by the Bucharest National Opera. In the days that followed, the audience enjoyed symphonic concerts, iconic works from the universal repertoire, and Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Nabucco, staged by the Maria Bieșu National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The anniversary edition concluded with the performance The Strauss Dynasty, presented by the National Symphony Orchestra of the Teleradio-Moldova Company, conducted by Academician Gheorghe Mustea, alongside renowned soloists from the national opera scene.

Doina Fetco, Marketing Director at maib, emphasized:

DescOperă Festival is a remarkable example of how culture can unite people, communities, and generations. At maib, we believe that investments in culture contribute to the development of a modern society and create experiences that inspire and leave a lasting impression. We are honoured to support a project that, for ten years, has promoted artistic excellence and highlighted the unique beauty of the Republic of Moldova.”

Elena Stepanov, Executive Director of the National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association of Moldova (ANTRIM), noted:

“We are very pleased that maib is our partner and supports initiatives to promote the Republic of Moldova as a tourist destination, both for us here at home and for those who wish to visit our country.”

In addition to the musical performances, attendees had access to a range of activities held at the Orheiul Vechi Reserve, including workshops led by folk artisans, guided tours, and authentic local experiences, which enhanced the festival’s atmosphere and helped promote the country’s cultural and tourism heritage.

By supporting DescOperă Festival, maib reaffirms its commitment to investing in initiatives that develop communities, promote culture, and help strengthen the Republic of Moldova’s image both locally and internationally.
