When the bill arrives at a dinner with friends, the same situation often comes up: one person pays for everyone, and then comes the slightly more complicated part — calculating everyone’s share, sending messages and waiting for transfers.
To make these moments easier, maib has launched Split payment, a new feature available in the maibank app. It allows customers to request each person’s share of a shared expense and keep track of who has already paid.
Customers can select a previous transaction or enter an expense manually, including expenses paid in cash. After selecting the participants, the total amount is split and payment requests are sent directly to the people involved. The person who initiated the request can track the payment status directly in the app.
The feature can come in handy in many everyday situations — from a dinner with friends or a group holiday to buying a gift together with colleagues or splitting other shared expenses.
With the launch of Split payment, maib continues to enhance the maibank app with solutions designed around everyday needs. As payments become increasingly digital, the experience can be made easier not only when making a payment, but also when a shared expense needs to be split between several people.
Split payment is available in the Payments section of the maibank app.
