For customers who want to modernize their homes, reduce energy consumption, or install renewable energy solutions, maib introduces the GEFF Moldova Residential Loan.

The programme is developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and supported by the European Union and Norway through the High-Impact Partnership on Climate Action (HIPCA). In addition, after the successful implementation and verification of the project, beneficiaries may receive a grant of up to 22.5% of the eligible investment costs.

What can you finance through the GEFF Moldova Residential Loan?

The loan can be used for a wide range of green solutions and technologies, including:

• home thermal insulation;
• energy-efficient windows and doors;
• heating systems based on heat pumps or biomass boilers;
• photovoltaic systems and electricity storage solutions;
• solar thermal systems;
• energy-efficient air conditioning systems;
• energy-efficient lighting systems;
• charging stations for electric vehicles;
• hot water storage tanks and rainwater harvesting systems;
• energy-efficient household appliances (up to 10% of the total project cost).

Who can apply?

You can apply for financing if you:

• are between 20 and 70 years old;
• have an official salary or documented income;
• intend to implement eligible energy-efficiency and/or renewable energy measures under the Programme.

Financing is available both without collateral, for amounts of up to MDL 400,000, and with collateral, for amounts of up to MDL 1,900,000.

How do you obtain the financing and the grant?

The process is simple:

1. Choose the eligible technology and equipment.
2. Obtain a commercial offer or supporting documents from the supplier.
3. Submit your application for the GEFF Moldova Residential Loan at any maib branch.
4. Once the loan is approved, register in the Grant Management System (GMS).
5. Implement the project.
6. Upload the required documents and information to the GMS and apply for the grant.
7. After the successful verification of the project, receive the grant corresponding to the eligible costs.
