New fraud attempts: this time scammers are using codes from SMS

We remind you to stay vigilant. Recently, there have been new fraud attempts where unknown individuals try to obtain OTP codes received via SMS.

maib will never request via phone call, SMS, email, or social media:

• OTP codes;
• card PIN;
• access passwords;
• confidential account information.

Do not share SMS codes with anyone, even if the person claims to represent the bank or an official institution.

If you have doubts about a phone call or message, end the conversation and contact the bank directly through official channels.

Stay vigilant and take care of your loved ones.
Talk to your parents, relatives, and friends about these fraud methods to help them protect their money and personal data.
