Maib has been ranked market leader in all key segments by Euromoney for the second consecutive year

Maib is pleased to announce that it has been honored with three Market Leader Awards by Euromoney, a leading global financial publication. The awards recognize maib as a standout performer in the following categories:

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Euromoney acknowledges maib's initiatives in corporate social responsibility, emphasizing the bank's commitment to sustainable practices and community well-being. Maib has either undertaken or supported numerous initiatives this year which have positively impacted the environment and the community where the Bank operates. In partnership with the NGO "Hai Moldova", the Bank has carried out one of its most significant environmental CSR projects aptly named ‘maib forest’, where maib’s enthusiastic employees have planted over 8,600 trees. Moreover, maib has supported Moldova’s national team in the 2023 Eurovision song contest, thus promoting national culture as well as our local artists abroad.

Corporate Banking
The Market Leader Award in Corporate Banking highlights maib's excellence in providing tailored financial solutions and services to corporate clients. This year maib has signed major key clients, such as the retail giant Linella, who built a new logistics center with maib’s financial help. Furthermore, with the addition of USBA as a corporate client, maib has aided the development of the renewable energy foundation of Moldova, by supporting the construction of a photovoltaic park (with a capacity of 7MW) in the south of the country.

Digital Solutions
Maib has been recognized for its innovative use of technology and user-friendly digital platforms, positioning the bank as a leader in the digital banking landscape. The centerpiece for the bank’s digital transformation is its banking application, maibank, which itself has received major upgrades this year. Amongst them is the launch of full digital onboarding, which allows any Moldovan citizen with a national ID card to open an account with maib without visiting a branch. Moreover, the interface of the app has recently gotten a big overhaul, making it much more user-friendly and intelligible.

Giorgi Shagidze, CEO maib, said:
Maib is honored to receive these prestigious awards from Euromoney, affirming our dedication to responsible banking, corporate excellence, and digital innovation. We remain committed to delivering value to our customers through our diverse range of services. I would like to personally thank our team, as it is their efforts which help us reach such notable achievements.”
