We support the development of local businesses: maib and EBRD provide MDL 60 million for the capital reconstruction of the Jolly Alon Hotel

Maib continues to support the development of the business environment in the Republic of Moldova, contributing to the competitiveness and modernization of the private sector. Maib and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed a new financing agreement worth MDL 60 million for the capital reconstruction of the Jolly Alon Hotel, one of the most iconic hotel establishments in Chișinău.

Under the risk-sharing agreements established between Maib and EBRD, the bank will assume 50% of the credit risk.

Andrii Glevatskyi, Deputy Chair of maib, highlighted:

"Through this strategic financing, we strengthen our support for local businesses and promote sustainable investments in the hospitality sector in the Republic of Moldova. We are honored to be part of this important stage in the capital reconstruction of the Jolly Alon Hotel, and we thank them for their trust, choice, and long-term partnership with maib. We also express our gratitude to the EBRD team for supporting the modernization and alignment with international standards of carefully developed businesses in Moldova."

The collaboration between maib and the EBRD is built on a long-term partnership, reflected in numerous projects supporting local enterprises. These include the development of the wellness center at Castel Mimi, the modernization of the largest local clothing manufacturer – IUVAS, the expansion of processing capacities at “Cereale de Aur” SRL, financing the SME sector, as well as the construction of a modern feed factory for Axedum, which is expanding into the production of high-quality table eggs.

Through such initiatives, maib and the EBRD reaffirm their shared commitment to stimulating investment and promoting the sustainable development of the Moldovan economy.
