31 young people are starting their careers at maib as part of the sixth edition of the internship programme

Maib has launched the sixth edition of its internship programme, in which 31 young people will learn alongside the bank’s professionals and work on concrete projects. Selected from over 500 candidates, the young people will discover how banking works from the inside and put their knowledge and ideas into practice.

The interns will begin their work in various departments within maib: Information Technology, Business Banking, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations and Logistics, and others. The programme offers them the opportunity to explore their chosen profession, work on real-life situations and learn from experienced colleagues.

At the launch event, Macar Stoianov, Deputy Chairman of maib, encouraged them to have confidence in their own ideas:

“The choices you make now are very important, because they will shape your career. Think about what you want to learn from this experience, and once you’ve set a goal – see it through to the end. Always look at things critically and discover, beyond banking, the people and culture of maib.”

Svetlana Bodaci, maib’s Head of Human Resources, spoke to them about the courage to take the first steps in a profession:

“I encourage you to speak openly about how you see things, because we too have something to learn from you. Make the most of this experience to discover the technologies we work with, to get to know the people in the team and to understand what goes on in a bank, day by day.”

Throughout the programme, the young people will put their ideas into practice, benefiting from the guidance of maib professionals, and will develop projects as a team. At the end, they will present their projects, and the best one will be presented to management to assess the potential for implementation.

For Luminița Zănoagă, a student accepted as a Research Analyst in the Corporate Support and Products Department, this internship is an opportunity she has long hoped for:

“The internship at maib is an opportunity I’ve been really hoping for: to learn alongside professionals at one of Moldova’s most innovative banks, to work with real data and to contribute to analyses that support important decisions. Thank you to the maib team for their trust.”

Alexandr Moroz, who was accepted for the role of Product Manager in the Daily Business Banking team, appreciated the openness of his future colleagues right from the interview:

“For me, the opportunity to be part of the maib internship programme represents an important step in my professional development. Right from the interview, I appreciated the very pleasant and open atmosphere, which allowed me to communicate freely and express my ideas.”

Ecaterina Botnarenco has been accepted for the role of Agile Coach Assistant in the Human Resources Department, and says she is excited about the opportunity to work and learn alongside professionals:

“I’m convinced it will be a period full of learning, during which I’ll have the opportunity to develop and grow both professionally and personally, so that, at the end of the internship, I’ll have the chance to become part of the maib team.”

Through this programme, maib is investing in the development of a new generation of professionals. At the same time, the internship is an opportunity to meet talented young people, to learn from their ideas and perspectives, and to identify future colleagues who share our values.
