Maib awarded Best SME Bank in Moldova 

Following a recent ranking as market leader in three key categories by Euromoney, maib received another accolade in one of its most important business segments. This time, maib has been recognized as the best bank in the SME segment from Moldova by Global Finance magazine.

SME Business Unit’s performance

In 2022 maib continued to upgrade its offering to the SME segment. It launched an innovative solution for the bank's clients - SmartPOS service, which made it possible to accept card payments on the smartphone or tablet by-passing the need for a separate card terminal. The innovative solution aimed to strengthen the SME leadership of maib in the SME segment. 

 

Maib SME Business Unit achievements from the 1H 2022:

  • Market share in SME loans increased to 31%;
  • Over 28.9K active SME customers as of 2Q 2022 , up by 1.7 % quarter over quarter;
  • 97.3% SME retention rate
  • 22.9% share of maib total loan portfolio, increased by 2.3% quarter over quarter
  • SME internet banking users increased by 23% year over year.
