Simple and easy: maib excludes the application of stamps on several bank documents

Maib aligns with modern market trends by excluding the application of the stamp on some bank documents, aiming to improve the customer experience by optimizing processes and simplifying their relation with the bank.

The change also takes place in the context in which the legislation does not require the possession and duse of the stamp by legal entities (including banks) LP845/1992 (art.3, al.5) and LP1134/1997 (art. 3, al.8)). The renunciation of stamps occurs in a broader context, including:

  • digitalization and modernization of the bank’s activity;
  • debureaucratization of over-the-counter operations;
  • minimizing the use of plastic at the bank and protecting the environment.

Aliona Stratan, maib First Vice Chairman:

„This new step comes in the context of our digital strategy, aiming to accelerate the digitalization process and simplify a number of operational issues. At the same time, it is another step in our approach to add comfort, speed to our customers’relation with maib, so that every interaction with the bank is even simpler and easier. The renunciation of stamps completes the series of optimization implemented recently, including the reduction of paper consumption and overall our impact on environment”.

Thus, from January 31 this year, the maib round stamps will no longer be applied on a series of documents.
